Lots of people are aware that there are several serious issues with electric cigarettes. They include high rates of addiction, severe lung damage and other health risks. It is hard to argue with the reality and anyone who doubt them should read more. But some people still doubt whether it is safe or not. A report published in September showed that longterm use of e-cigs may also lead to issues with oral cancer and throat cancer. This study of 715 longterm smokers revealed that those that used e-cigs had a three fold increased risk of developing oral cancer. The analysis also showed that long-term users of e-cigs had a four fold increased risk of developing mouth, larynx or pharynx cancer. Additionally, long-term users of e-cigs had a four fold increased risk of developing lung injury, that may cause short term and longterm health issues. This study published in September also showed that long-term smokers using e-cigs were at a higher risk of having gum disease, particularly if they also used tobacco.

Also published in September was a study that looked at the effects of long term usage of a kind of battery operated device called the “vape Pen” on oral cancer. The research project was completed by researchers in the Umea University School of Dentistry in Sweden. This study discovered that children who smoked using electronic cigarettes had a three fold increased risk of developing mouth, larynx or pharynx cancer. Furthermore, there was a three fold increase in the chance of developing lung disease.

In the second half of the year, there were numerous injuries to electronic cigarette users from a variety of different causes. Most of these incidents involved vaporizing cigarettes containing nicotine along with other harmful chemicals. For instance, a Kentucky man died from asphyxiation from smoking a vaporizer that contained ethylene glycol, an ingredient commonly found in antifreeze. Furthermore, throat and mouth ulcers were reported in United States citizens because of vapors from e-cigs. There have been also reports of illnesses from being exposed to traces of lead.

Smoking is a killer and a major health risk. It’s never been as dangerous as it is today. Despite the growing concern on the growing amount of deaths from cigarettes and the brand new findings about the serious health consequences of prolonged nicotine smoking, vaporizers remain popular among vapers. The FDA have not issued any formal guidelines on nicotine levels, so there is absolutely no way of knowing whether some nicotine is enough to send someone directly into a coma or death.

So could it be safe to use e-juice to quit smoking? While the short-term effects may look positive, the future effects could be devastating. Vaping doesn’t appear to cause any immediate health risks. Nicotine still circulates through your blood. Also, nicotine is a poison, and it will slowly seep into all of your internal organs over time.
